Stay in the loop

We're a bunch of people from Collingwood, Clifton Hill and surrounds who want to put an end to the thousands of cars passing through Wellington Street.

Council voted on 12 May and adopted a do-minimum package. The shared street option was not adopted. The project moves into design and feasibility, with a community consultation on traffic control measures (such as turn restrictions during peak hours) to follow. That consultation will be the next real opportunity to push for change.

Register to stay informed. We'll let you know when there's something useful to do. Until then, there's no need to act.

What was decided

Council voted on 12 May 2026 and adopted an amended officer recommendation. The shared street option was not adopted. See the 12 May decision for what was adopted and what it means for the corridor.

The project now moves into design and feasibility, with a community consultation on traffic control measures (such as turn restrictions during peak hours) to follow. We’ll send an update when there is something useful to do.

Your councillors

For reference, the councillors who decided on 12 May. The ward councillors most directly connected to the route are listed first. Not sure which ward you’re in? This map shows all Yarra wards. To reach the full council at once: ✉ crs@yarracity.vic.gov.au. Full contact details are on Yarra City Council’s councillors page.

The southern end of the project is in the City of Melbourne, which has no wards, so has no specific member to speak to.
